Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) is looking for people from companies in the manufacturing sector in NSW who are interested in joining a range of new Industry Reference Groups. MSA is contracted by the NSW Government to provide advice about industry training needs and related issues to the NSW Department of Industry – Training Services NSW.
The IRGs will discuss skills-related challenges and opportunities in their particular sector, and possible solutions. The deliberations will be fed to the MSA Industry Training Advisory Body for inclusion in advice provided to Government.
One IRG operating in the Textile, Clothing and Footwear sector has already been established. A further six are to be established in the following sectors:
A further two workforce development groups will be convened covering defence industry and Renewable Energy.
