The Future Skills Organisation (FSO), responsible for the finance, technology, and business vocational education and training (VET) training packages, has released its Workforce Plan 2025: Pathways to Impact, which provides valuable data-driven insights and analysis into the nation’s finance, technology, and business industries’ skilled workforce of 3 million workers (accounting for one in five workers across all industries) in 2025.

The Plan seeks to embed essential digital skills and capabilities – including foundational digital literacy, cyber security and artificial intelligence skills – across each of the industry sectors to address the ever-evolving reality of work that is being impacted by the fourth industrial revolution.

The strategies and projects being undertaken – including entry level pathways, ICT training package updates and earn while you learn projects – can make an important contribution to ensuring Australia can meet its future skills requirements for technology within the sector and across the economy.

Australian Industry Group Centre for Education and Training is an employer representative member through Dr Caroline Smith, and represented on the Strategic Advisory Committee by Brett Hall, General Manager – Policy, Research and Projects.
