The transition to a cleaner economy is driven by a range of pressures, including national and international policies to reduce emissions, rising consumer demand for sustainable products and services and rising costs of energy inputs. As a result businesses are experiencing changing skill needs, with emerging skills materialising.

The Centre’s 2022 Skills Survey identified these changing needs for businesses. Through advocacy, committee representation and research, the Centre maintains a focus on building the workforce needed to operate the circular economy, to transition to clean forms of energy and to work towards climate change mitigation/adaptation.
